Current Information:Age-49 Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery, Belgium
On 4th March, 1915, the 3rd Royal Fusiliers battalion of 85 Brigade, 28th Division moved into the trenches to the east of Kemmel in Belgium where they remained until relieved on 16th March. Guy Du Maurier, the battalion commander, was killed by a shell on 9th March. He was a famous playwright and had served in the South African war.
